It is the era of Fenty, y’all — and there’s no going back now…

Full disclosure: one of the first things on my to-do list after getting back to the U.S. from traveling in September, was to drive over to Sephora and finally obtain some of what literally everyone had been talking about — I was going to become a part of the #FentyFam and get my hands on some of the products from Rihanna’s new cosmetic line, Fenty Beauty. So that’s exactly what I did.

Here’s what I picked up:

• Pro Filt’r Foundation #300
• Killawatt Duos:
– Girl Next Door/Chic Phreak
– Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal
• Match Stix:
– Ridiiic
– Starstruck
• Fenty Beauty Sponge
• Gloss Bomb: Fenty Glow

 ►INITIAL IMPRESSION/S
Personally… I am so impressed with this line and all of the products that I’ve tried so far. It’s all super versatile but the thing I probably love most about it, is how perfect it is for achieving “natural-looking” makeup — and I know that’s such a buzzword in the beauty industry but like, very seriously…. this makeup is sort of perfection in such a way that even when doing a full-face beat, your skin still looks flawless, natural and not cakey AT ALL. The formulas are ridiculously beautiful — and I continue to reach for all of these items in my everyday routine.

PRO FILT’R FOUNDATION
When I describe this foundation to people I just tell them that it is literally like your skin… but better! That’s the only way I can articulate it. I’ve personally never been a 1-foundation girl. I always have to mix (multiple) shades in order to get my perfect match, but one Fenty Beauty foundation matched me to a TEE. It was actually shade #290 but at the time I was shopping, that color was completely sold out (in-stores AND online). Thankfully, Rihanna is a genius, and put out a whole 40 shades of foundation on her first launch and there were about 2 other colors that I could make work. Another really awesome aspect of the formula is that you don’t have to set it with powder once it’s applied; oh, the time I will save. It just… dries! and then it doesn’t move or separate. It’s basically sorcery but I’m not complaining. It isn’t totally matte, but it’s not dewy or wet either. It almost dries like a light powder. It’s hard to explain and I’m obviously not an expert but It’s pretty amazing stuff in my humble opinion. The only advice I would give regarding this product, is to go a shade lighter, not darker, if in doubt about your exact color. Like most liquid foundations, it oxidizes a bit when dry, so the lighter shades tend to be a closer match.

MATCH STIX
The match stix are the coolest, and can be used for lots of things. The two I bought both in the metallic finish. I’ve been using Ridiiic (the peachy red/orange one) on my cheeks as a blush, and on my lips for some quick color, and Starstruck (the baby pink one) as an inner corner highlight on the eyes, a regular highlight over top my blush, or a tip-of-the-nose glow. SO MANY WAYS TO USE THEM.

GLOSS BOMB
The gloss smells like vanilla cake, and fresh flowers. It’s a beautiful neutral color that looks good with any lip product or great on it’s own. It isn’t uncomfortable or sticky, and it doesn’t leave that nasty dry white residue in the cracks of your lips when it wears off. I’ve been wearing it everyday since purchase.

KILLAWATT DUOS
Both of these highlighters are so soft, and they look insanely pretty on everyone! I used the Lightning Bug/Fire Crystal combo on some clients in a bridal party I helped freelance last month, so I can personally attest to it. Neither of these duos in particular are super “in your face” or extra glittery. They’re actually both more on the subtle side, but still really eye-catching and super gorgeous. I’m obsessed.

BEAUTY SPONGE
This one was a no-brainer for me. The sponge is just as good if not better than the beauty blender and it’s $2 dollars cheaper. I actually like it better because it has a flat edge (which is perfect for carving out and cleaning up the cheeks when baking) and is softer and feels way more bouncy to me.

I just really love everything so far to be quite honest. I even put these products to the ultimate test and traveled (on a plane) with them from CA to AZ to freelance a wedding and they did perfectly fine since the match stix are magnetized. I liked this makeup so much that I made a second trip to Sephora in the same week just to get my hands on some more of the items that I felt I just couldn’t sleep as good at night without! (queue dramatics) and I really hate going to malls so… that says a lot. This is quality, high-end product for totally reasonable/mid-range Sephora prices (when the creator very easily could have used her huge name to jack up prices, but she didn’t), and I would absolutely and highly recommend the Fenty Beauty brand to anyone who’s been wanting to try it, or has been on the fence about trying it.

Tell me what you guys think and what some of your favs are so far!
